Perhaps no natural building material is more suitable in showing Mediterranean flair than terracotta tile.

The attractive, characteristic glaze of terracotta tile is softer and more prone to scratching than ceramic tiles. Due to the manufacturing process the dimensions of terracotta tile is not as exact as industrially manufactured ceramic tile - this is seen by some as part of its inherent charm. As terracotta floor tile is a weaker material than ceramic and porcelain it is made considerably thicker. Terracotta tile is a natural material and will therefore vary in terms of shade and pattern

The heat retaining ability of terractotta tile makes it an ideal material for underfloor heating systems.
